0800 Services
Toll free services in New Zealand where the 0800 provider picks up all call costs.


0508 Services
Toll free services in New Zealand originally provided through Clear Communications, and now available for use across any carrier or service provider.


1300 Services
Toll Free services in Australia where the caller pays for the local call component and the 1300 provider pays the balance of any toll charges


1800 Services
Toll Free services in Australia where all toll charges are paid for by the 1800 provider


Acrobat Reader
A free application from Adobe Systems Inc that allows the user to view PDF files. Click here to get a free download of the latest version.


Call Exception Monitoring
Management reporting of possibly unacceptable call activity as determined by the customer.


Cart
A place to temporarily house all of the word numbers you are interested in. Items can be deleted from the cart at any time. The cart automatically empties after 20 minutes on of inactivity.


Cordless Telephony
Typically short range cordless telephone for use in office or site environments where a degree of mobility is required e.g. Ericsson's DECT Cordless solution.


Data Routing
Hardware devices and software used to manage the flow of data across a network.000


Datalogger
A small device that collects call data from a PBX via the SMDR port for reporting purposes.


Geographic regions
Often refers to the physical grouping of telephone exchanges to closely match the political boundaries. This is used to help define where callers are based together with any associated statistical information useful in understanding customer demographics.


Geographical Call Distribution
A feature of advanced Toll Free networks that can automatically route callers to pre-determined destinations based on the customer specific business requirements.

Line Rentals
Monthly charges for a telephone circuit. Also called Access or Line charges.


Local Calls
Calls made within a pre-defined calling area typically based on small geographic regions.


Network Services
These are the services available from network providers that can significantly enhance the productivity and performance of your telecommunications set-up.  Also called network features.


PABX
Private Automated Branch eXchange. The hardware and software device that manages call activity for an enterprise or office.

PDF
Portable Document Format, hence PDF, is a file format created by Adobe Systems in 1993 that lets the receiver view and print a file exactly as the author intended it, without needing to have the same application or fonts used to create the file.


Profile
A set of characteristics used to individualise a customer's preferences.  


SMDR
Station Management Detail Recording. The ability of network access equipment to output call statistics and performance information for tabulation and analysis.


Subscriber
A person who receives call management reporting  from Zintel.


Word Numbers
Words made up by using the letters associated with the number key on a phone keypad.

(ZINTEL would be 946 835).

Organisations in competitive markets use word numbers as they often prove more memorable than a number.
