Zintel recognises that wherever we have offices or provide services, we have a responsibility to minimise the impact of our operations.
We comply with all relevant environmental legislation, and have a number of corporate environmental initiatives in place:
Toll free reports by email means less paper
We email our customers their monthly reporting, which saves huge volumes of paper. Previously, the standard reporting cycle sent reams of paper to thousands of customers, but now we send our reports electronically. Our customers can save the PDF document of their bill and create a digital filing system rather than finding room to store yet more paper in their offices. Since changing our reporting we have reduced the print requirements by 58%!
Recycling in the office
At Zintel, we make recycling easy. We encourage our staff to:
- Put non-confidential waste paper in recycling boxes
- Put confidential waste paper in the secure shredding bins
- Use mugs instead of polystyrene or plastic cups
- Flatten cardboard boxes and recycle
- Place glass, cans and bottles in the recycle crates in kitchen areas
Printing by staff
We reduce waste by only printing when necessary and using double-sided printing and photocopying settings on all office computers.
Reduce carbon emissions
We've lowered energy consumption and carbon emissions by reducing the need for road and air travel. Video and audio conferencing are time-efficient, cost effective and environmentally friendly meeting technologies in place at Zintel.
We also update the Zintel car fleet regularly, ensuring our cars reflect the latest in emissions standards.
We communicate our environmental policy to staff, suppliers, contractors and the public and continually seek to improve environmental performance by encouraging ideas that make our workplaces environmentally sustainable.
